Recovery Specialty Interventions

  • Red light therapy: utilizes low-level red or near-infrared light to address the skin and underlying tissue. The light penetrates the mitochondria of the cells to help promote energy of the cells/body. Helpful for: pain relief, joint range of motion, chronic or acute injuries. Tools used: red light wrap, red light panel, red light full body pod.  

  • Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization: used on musculoskeletal tissue that is impaired by scraping, stretching, strengthening and separating fascia layers. Helpful for: pain, restricted range of motion, scar tissue. Tools used: small skin-scraping tool.  

  • Ultrasound: uses high-frequency sound waves to target inflammatory musculoskeletal tissue to reduce pain, improve range of motion, promote tissue healing, promote blood flow and soften scar tissue. Tools used: ultrasound therapy handheld device. 

 

  • Manual therapy and mobilizations: used to address specific joints or muscles that are not in optimal alignment or orientation. Tools used: skilled PT hands. 

  • Functional dry needling: uses monofilament needles that are inserted into the musculoskeletal tissue or bone periosteum to address impaired circulation, impaired range of motion, trigger points, chronic pain, acute pain. Tools used: monofilament needles of various diameters and lengths.  

  • Therapy cups: uses suction specifically to treat musculoskeletal pain in a static or stationary position or dynamic with movement of the cup along the inflammatory tissue. Tools used: therapy cups and/or cups with additional red light.
